Gia advanced all the way to the Elks Hoop Shoot nationals held in North Carolina, where she won second place. She has high hopes of progressing to finals within the next four years as she is eligible.

Her sister, Mia Scott, is 13 years old and attends Mariner Middle School. Also involved in local sports, Mia plays travel softball for Delmarva Heat, summer volleyball for Sandsharks Dewey Beach Volleyball Club, and basketball for Delaware Snipers. Last year, Mia made it to the Hoop Shoot national level and won third place. This year, she won second place at the district level.
