Elks Lodge 2540 donates to support People’s Place

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 presented a check for $1,000 to the GFWC Zwaanendael Women's Club to support the club's assistance of People's Place, which provides a safe environment, shelter and support to women and children suffering from domestic violence in Kent and Sussex counties.
The donated funds will be used to purchase pillows, DART cards, gas cards and clothing to supplement the 12 cartons of slippers, underwear and socks collected during October at drop-off points in the Lewes library and the Senators and Nassau Grove community clubhouses.
The community's generosity will help People's Place continue to assist those affected by domestic violence.
