First State Chevrolet donates $1,500 to breast cancer coalition

December 9, 2017

First State Chevrolet held a truck or treat event Oct. 28 to raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer. The event had many attractions for children including trick or treating, hay rides, climbing on an antique fire engine, seeing the Delaware State Police helicopter, and meeting state troopers and paramedics.

First State Chevrolet provided free hot dogs, chips and soda, and sold raffle tickets. Funds from all raffle ticket sales and donations totaling $1,500 were given to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.

Proceeds will benefit the coalition's programs which increase breast cancer awareness, promote the importance of early detection, provide access to mammograms and cervical screenings, and provide support and resources to women and men in the local community who are newly diagnosed or facing recurrence of breast cancer. First State Chevrolet is at 22694 DuPont Blvd., Georgetown.
