First State Dance student Jay Ledford accepts scholarship to Kirov Academy

Michele Xiques, director of First State Dance Academy, announced that student Jay Ledford, 17, of Milford, auditioned and was accepted to Kirov Academy of Ballet (scholarship), Houston Ballet, the Rock School (with full artistic scholarship), and Orlando Ballet (with full artistic and partial housing scholarship).
Ledford has chosen to train at the Kirov, a ballet school in Washington, D.C. Its function is to train ballet dancers through the principles and aesthetics of the Vaganova method of classical ballet taught at the Vaganova Choreographic Institute in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Anna Edmondson, a First State Dance Academy student, is currently invited to train at the institute.
