First State Military Academy commandant to address veterans coalition March 27

The Delaware Veterans Coalition will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, March 27, at FOP Lodge 3 in Dover. Patrick Gallucci, commandant of First State Military Academy in Clayton, will serve as keynote speaker. He will be joined by retired Marine Corps Col. Robert Wallace, senior Marine instructor. 

Gallucci has been an educator for 23 years, teaching at three different schools before becoming commandant at First State Military Academy, a tuition-free public charter high school. He holds a bachelor of science degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree from Wilmington University. Originally from Johnstown, Pa., he joined the United States Marine Corps in October 1985 and served for four years. He is married to Kathleen Gallucci and has two sons: Patrick is 21 and in his third year at West Point, and Thomas, 18, is a PFC in the Marine Corps. The Galluccis have been Delaware residents since 1996 and have made Camden their home.

The Delaware Veterans Coalition is a statewide, nonprofit, 501c3 lobbying organization that advocates with elected and appointed public officials on issues that affect all generations of Delaware veterans. It was tributed by the Delaware Legislature on its fifth anniversary in May 2016. The coalition's slogan is "Veterans are our only business." Membership is open to all honorably discharged veterans residing in Delaware.
