Former Bradley house sold in Lewes

Home of convicted pedophile sells just weeks after being listed
July 20, 2016

The former Lewes home of convicted pedophile Earl Bradley has sold just weeks after being put on the market.

Bethel United Methodist Church is the seller of the property. The Rev. Earle Baker said the Bethel congregation voted unanimously June 30 to attempt to sell the home at 344 Savannah Road, and it was listed the next day for $250,000 with Re/Max.

The four-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,600-square-foot home was given to the church after Wells Fargo bank was unable to sell it. Church officials had been mulling what to do with the property, located in the city's historic district, for two years.

In April, church officials went before the city’s historic preservation commission seeking to demolish the structure, but the request was denied.

Bradley is serving 14 life sentences plus 164 years after being convicted of rape, assault and sexual exploitation involving 86 children at his Lewes office. Bradley's pediatrics office on Route 1 was demolished in 2011.
