Gerald Dickens to perform ‘A Christmas Carol’ Dec. 8

December 4, 2023

For the third year in Lewes, Gerald Dickens, great-great-grandson of Charles Dickens, will reprise his popular one-man adaptation of “A Christmas Carol,” Charles Dickens’s classic holiday tale, at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 8, at the Cape Henlopen High School theater, 1250 Kings Highway, Lewes.

Using his own adaptation of the classic Christmas tale, Dickens will play over 30 characters using his exceptional vocal and physical talents to bring each scene vividly to life.

In a free presentation, Dickens performs over 30 characters, brought vividly to life by his extraordinary vocal and physical talents.

Dickens is an actor, director, and producer—and the great-great grandson of the author Charles Dickens. He regularly performs in major theaters and arts centers, and most recently visited Lewes for a sold-out performance of “Great Expectations” in September.

The performance is presented by the Lewes Public Library Spoken Word Society and Sussex County Department of Libraries, and partially funded by generous support of Becker Morgan Group, Browseabout Books, Cape Gazette, GFWC Zwaanendael Women's Club, John and Sally Freeman Foundation, and M&T Charitable Foundation. Byers' Choice Ltd., a handcraft gift company based in Pennsylvania, hosts Gerald Dickens’ visit to the United States.
