Gillis Gilkerson to build The Nest at Sussex Academy

Gillis Gilkerson, a contracting and construction management firm on Delmarva, announced it has been hired to build The Nest at Sussex Academy, a new athletic building on Airport Road in Georgetown.

"We look forward to working with Sussex Academy again to enhance the educational experience the campus offers to its staff and students," said Dwight Miller, Gillis Gilkerson president. "This is not the first Sussex Academy project for Gillis Gilkerson. We previously renovated the school's lobby, stage, library and natatorium. The 3,853-square-foot building will include storage space for athletic equipment, restrooms equipped with ADA bathrooms, and a concession stand. According to Gillis Gilkerson Project Manager Michael Truitt, the one-floor structure with cement siding and a metal roof is scheduled to be complete within 90 days after all permits are approved and issued.
