Grief Recovery Method support groups ongoing in Long Neck

May 20, 2022

Trinity Baptist Church in Long Neck is set to host group sessions for the Grief Recovery Method, the only evidence-based grief approach to help grievers deal with the pain of any emotional loss. The program is not limited to those who have suffered the loss of a loved one. There are more than 40 different kinds of losses, including divorce, loss of health, loss of career and loss of trust, that can lead to unresolved grief. All of them hurt.

Cameron Swain, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, was certified as a Grief Recovery Method specialist in Princeton, N.J., and is quick to point out that the method is effective for individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds. It is not a faith-based methodology or system. All individuals are welcome to participate. To explore the Grief Recovery Institute website, go to griefrecoverymethod.com.

The groups run in cycles of eight weeks with one session per week. Each session runs one to one-and-a-half hours with a five- to 10-minute break. The book that accompanies the course is provided free of charge courtesy of Trinity Baptist Church. There will be homework exercises and reading assignments in between weekly sessions to teach the tools and techniques to process and recover from grief. There is no cost to participate.

Trinity Baptist Church is located at 32422 Long Neck Road, Millsboro. To learn more and register, contact Cameron Swain at 302-382-7150.
