Groome Church concert to benefit Lewes in Bloom May 11

April 29, 2024

The Groome Church Performing Arts Series will present a concert to benefit, celebrate and thank Lewes in Bloom at 6 p.m., Saturday, May 11, at 601 Savannah Road, Lewes.

Pianist and composer Nina Siniakova will play a medley of selections from classical to the American Songbook to contemporary. The program will include works by Tchaikovsky, Schumann, Grieg, Gershwin, Porter, Arlen and John Williams.

The Rev. Dr. S. Willard Crossan, Groome’s pastor, said, “When the opportunity presented its self to again have Ms. Siniakova in concert, and given the beautiful spring we’ve had, we couldn’t think of a better organization to benefit at this time of the year, and thank, than Lewes in Bloom. For the past several weeks, every time you go down a street or turn a corner, you’re greeted by spectacular beds of spring flowers, chock-a-block with tulips and daffodils. Each spring, we are the lucky and the very fortunate beneficiaries of LIB’s army of volunteers’ long hours, logged in the fall, planting the thousands of bulbs whose blooms we’ve been enjoying. LIB plays a huge role and is essential to what makes Lewes so special season after season, year after year.”
