Ground clearing underway for Route 24 shopping center

Crews are removing several acres of woods and tearing down several abandoned buildings along Route 24 between Love Creek bridge and Peddler’s Village to make way for the Pelican Landing shopping center. The 87,800-square-foot center was approved by Sussex County officials eight years ago. The developers received a zoning change from AR-1 to B-1 neighborhood business district. RON MACARTHUR PHOTO
