History Book Festival most enlightening

October 17, 2017

Compliments and gratitude to the organizers, sponsors, and many volunteers who made the inaugural History Book Festival a seamlessly choreographed series of entertaining and educational programs that appealed to readers, would-be authors, historians, and students of a multitude of diverse genres.

Leaving the final program on Saturday we felt like time travelers transported (via author presentations) through more than 150 years of history and many geographical locations. To say that there was something for everyone is not hyperbole.

Our only regret, given an overlapping festival schedule, was having to choose which of the 18 free talks to attend.

What a wonderful event for the Cape Region. Our calendar is marked for the Second History Book Festival planned for September 2018.
