Hours extended at Sept. 22 Milton Farmers Market

September 19, 2017

Milton Farmers Market meets every Friday on the lawn at Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton, bringing patrons everything they need for healthy and fresh meal preparation. Friendly dogs on six-foot leads are always welcome. The market will offer extended hours of 2 to 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 22. Free parking is available in the large lot next to the brewery.

Not only does the market provide the fresh produce, meats, poultry, seafood, baked goods, ice cream, sundries and services, it also supports various community organizations, having recently donated $500 to Milton Community Food Pantry, and $500 to CHEER Meals on Wheels/Milton.

In the past weeks, in response to hurricane hardships in the South, Milton Farmers Market has donated in excess of $400 for victims of Hurricane Harvey. Funds were raised by designating a portion of Beer Tent sales.

There's always live and lively music for shoppers to enjoy, and on Sept. 22, the tunes will come from Matt Lafferty. Attendees can grab a bite to eat and settle in for the sounds at the shaded picnic tables or bring along a lawn chair.

More than 20 vendors provide market-fresh food options, goodies for shoppers' furry friends, specialty items, snack foods, beautifully crafted wood serving pieces and a knife-sharpening service. Abbott's Grill offers on-the-grill barbecued chicken, pork tacos, hot dogs and more for take-away or on-site meals.

Milton Farmers Market meets at 6 Village Center Drive in Cannery Village and runs from mid-April to the first week in October, when the annual Oktoberfest closes the season. A bonus market is offered in November the Friday before Thanksgiving. For more information, go to www.miltondefarmersmarket.org.
