Inland Bays Foundation commends Carney

January 19, 2018

On behalf of the board of directors of the Inland Bays Foundation, I applaud Gov. John Carney for his forthright opposition to oil exploration off Delaware shores.

According to news reports, the governor is seeking a meeting with Interior Secretary Zinke to emphasize the potential damage this might cause to our tourism industry as well as our environment.

Given the secretary has exempted Florida, saying "Florida is unique, and its coasts are heavily reliant on tourism as an economic driver," clearly provides Gov. Carney his argument.
