Isn't a safe world all any of us want?

December 19, 2017

I read Lawrence McSwain's letter in last week's newspaper, and immediately felt he needs to become a lot more accepting of people.

In order to re-think his position on gender identity, he should read a book that we will discuss at our Unitarian Universalist book club this winter, "Becoming Nicole" by Amy Ellis Nutt.

Reading this book will provide Mr. McSwain with an introduction to gender identity issues, and hopefully admiration for the many families fighting today to make a safer world for their transgender child.

Isn't a safe world all any of us want, be they parents or grandparents?
