Jeanne Hearn Amling, loved murder mysteries

Jeanne Hearn Amling, 83, of Auburn, Ala., died Wednesday evening, Feb. 22, 2017, at EAMC following a brief illness.

Jeanne was born in Milford, Dec. 2, 1933, and grew up in Georgetown, with her large family and near her lifelong friends, Mom Reed and Cecil. She moved to Auburn in 1959, where she raised her family and was employed by WAUD, WKKR, and the Auburn University Library. She will be remembered for her love of murder mysteries, Atlanta Braves baseball, social justice, and her skill at fine-hand knitting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Sally Hearn; infant son David; brothers Melvin Hearn, Paul Hearn, Lloyd Hearn and Jack Hearn; sister Janet King; and great-grandson Noah Wrigley.

She is survived by her daughter Jenifer Wrigley (Samuel); sons, Jeff Amling and Jay Amling; grandchildren, Harry Amling, Chris Amling, David Wrigley, Sarah Wrigley, Thomas Wrigley and Emily Wrigley; great-grandchildren, Madison and Macy Wrigley, and David and Samuel Wrigley; brother, James Hearn; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Food Bank of East Alabama.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown, at a later date.
