League of Women Voters event to kick off Do More 24 March 7

March 4, 2024

The League of Women Voters of Sussex County will kick off Do More 24 Delaware, the state’s largest giving day, with a dine, drink and donate event set for 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, March 7, at Iron Hill Brewery, 19815 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach. To make a reservation, go to my.lwv.org/delaware/sussex-county-delaware.

The Do More 24 Delaware online event, featuring more than 500 Delaware nonprofits, will run from 6 p.m., Thursday, March 7, through 6 p.m., Friday, March 8. There is an extra bonus for organizations that get donations during that first 6-7 p.m. hour, and the first 20 people who sign up for the league’s kickoff event will generate additional funds from a generous donor. Those who cannot come to the Iron Hill Brewery in person can go to DoMore24DE.org and enter League of Women Voters to donate to the organization.

The league extends an open invitation to the event in support of its timely and crucial mission to empower voters and defend democracy.

With most Delaware state offices, as well as races for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and president, up for election this year, the league’s efforts to provide access to reliable information are essential. Its participation in Do More 24 Delaware will support voter education projects such as its Vote411 online voting information guide, candidate forums for state and local offices, the Get Out The Vote campaign and more.

For 67 years, LWVSCDE has promoted political responsibility in Sussex County through informed and active participation in government. The league does not support or oppose any political party or any candidate. Membership is open to anyone 16 years of age or older who subscribes to the purpose and policies of the LWV of the United States. For more information, go to sussexlwv.org.
