Local author Jill Hicks to sign sixth novel at Browseabout June 23

June 20, 2018

Local author Jill Hicks will return to Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Saturday, June 23, at 11 a.m., to sign copies of her latest release, "Sundial."

Hicks has spent her summers between the Chesapeake Bay, Long Island Sound and the Delaware beaches. Her novels reflect the romantic flavors of life on and around the water.

Her skillful use of first person narrative and dialogue engages her readers in the personal lives of her characters: some lovable, and some, not so much. Unexpected twists and turns mirror the fragile complexities of people’s lives and the relationships built - and destroyed - along the way. As her stories unfold, one becomes invested in the page-turning emotions, environments and events.

Hicks's new release, "Sundial," is set on the North East River at the head of the Chesapeake Bay. The main character, Faith Livingston, grew up on the river. During an extended visit, Faith has the opportunity to resolve her greatest "what if." When presented with a do-over involving those who still hold her heart, should she take it? How much of her present life is she willing to put at risk? Is it possible to reconcile one's future path with an unforgettable past?

Hicks's novels will keep readers spellbound and add another depth of dimension to any real or imagined vacation along the East Coast.
