Loftus Wealth Strategies donates $26,000 to end Alzheimer’s

December 10, 2016

The second annual Athletes to End Alzheimer's 5K Run/Walk, presented by Loftus Wealth Strategies, recently made a $26,000 gift to the Alzheimer's Association, making the race one of the assocation's top three fundraising events in the mid-Atlantic region.

Michael Loftus of Loftus Wealth Strategies, a wealth management and financial planning business in Millville, is the event founder and organizer. "I am thrilled to put on this race and make this gift to the Alzheimer's Association for treatment, research and support for those affected by Alzheimer's and their caregivers," said Loftus.

As a third-party fundraising event, the race has chosen to distribute the contribution to the local Alzheimer's Association chapter in Georgetown, with funds for research and development, and to raise awareness of the Delaware Valley Chapter. According to the Alzheimer's Association website, Alzheimer's is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior; the life-interfering symptoms worsen over time and there is no cure.

Next year's run is set for Saturday, Aug. 6.
