Lots of broads enjoy great weather for Broadwalk in Rehoboth

14th annual event serves as a fundraiser for Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition

After a few cool days in the Cape Region, the weather turned warm and brought out the masses for the 14th annual Broadwalk on the Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach.

CAMP Rehoboth hosted the walk with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. The April 28 event was part of Women’s Fest 2024. The walk and associated activities commemorate those lost to cancer, celebrate survivors and educate others.

The walk always starts at CAMP Rehoboth on Baltimore Avenue, but this year’s route was a little different. Instead of walking straight east toward the Boardwalk, the route went down North First Street, then Rehoboth Avenue due to construction of the Rehoboth Beach Patrol headquarters. The walk ended at Poodle Beach, where those celebrating survivors formed a huge heart around the survivors who participated.

Originally focused only on breast cancer, the walk now includes people with any kind of cancer. For more information on the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, go to debreastcancer.org.
