M. Elizabeth Barrett, had creative spirit

M. Elizabeth “Beth” Barrett passed away suddenly in her home in Lewes Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 61.

She was born Nov. 4, 1962, in Pensacola, Fla. Beth was the oldest of three daughters to parents Thomas S. Barrett (deceased) and Margaret Louise Coviello Barrett. Beth was preceded in death by her sister, Sandy; and her partner, Kris Brown. She is survived by her mother; her two sisters, Laurie Barrett (Michelle Beck) of Wake Forest, N.C., and Andrea Barrett; her aunts, Rose Emick of Wake Forest, and Fran Marano of Glendale, Ariz.; her uncles, Dennis Barrett of Falls Creek, Pa., Albert Coviello (Jean) of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Thomas Feightner of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; and many cousins who will miss her deeply.

Beth was raised in Dover and earned her high school diploma from Holy Cross High School. She was a graduate of Delaware Tech and a resident of Lewes for most of her adult life. Beth had a creative spirit that was expressed by crafting, painting, sewing, and cooking. She generously shared the products of these talents with family and friends.

A remembrance service will be held at a later date in Grampian, Pa., with a burial immediately following at St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
