Man dies following Bridgeville shooting
A 23-year-old man died May 14 following a shooting in Bridgeville.
Delaware State Police were called at 7:01 p.m. to a home in the 21000 block of Mill Park Drive regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, police found 23-year-old Orbby Holder of Bridgeville lying in the front yard of a residence suffering from gunshot wounds, said Sr. Cpl. Leonard DeMalto of the Delaware State Police. Troopers and EMS personnel rendered medical aid at the scene and he was taken to an area hospital for emergency treatment. Holder was later pronounced dead at the hospital, he said.
Delaware State Police Homicide Unit detectives learned Holder had been at a party on Mill Park Drive when he was confronted by an unknown man. The confrontation escalated and the unknown suspect shot Holder with a handgun, DeMalto said. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
No suspect information is available. The Homicide Unit is still actively investigating the incident and asks anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective M.
