Margaret ‘Rose’ Brocato, loved to laugh

Margaret Roseanne “Rose” Brocato, 58, of Millsboro, formerly of Linthicum, Md., passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at home from a battle with triple negative breast cancer. 

Rose was born Sept. 18, 1958, in Washington, D.C., to the late Harold Rollins and Jacqueline A. Kempton Moffitt. She worked as a bank teller. Rose was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Millsboro

She was beautiful person always willing to help a stranger or someone in need. She loved to laugh and have fun. Rose was an amazing wife to the most important love in her life, her husband Al, and an amazing mother and grandmother. Family was very important to her, especially spending time with her grandsons.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Albert J. Brocato of Millsboro; a daughter, Kristy Burkey and her husband Chase of Northeast, Md.; a son, Joseph Brocato and his wife Brittany of Millsboro; two sisters, Jeannie Hovaldt and her husband Ken of North Carolina, and Connie Lydard of Delmar; and a brother, Harold Moffitt and his wife Joyce of South Carolina. She is also survived by her five grandsons, Blake, Austin, Grayson, Brooks, and Regan, as well as her two devoted canine friends, Buster and Dempsey.

A viewing and visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 30, at Grace United Methodist Church, 330 E. Church St., Millsboro. Services include a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 1, at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
