Maribeth Dockety named Delaware ACE Women's Network president

The American Council on Education, Delaware ACE Women's Network recently elected Maribeth B. Dockety as the organization's president for 2017-18 after she served as vice president. DAWN connects women in higher education and provides support to further their professional development and advancement.

Dockety is director of human resources for the Owens Campus of Delaware Technical Community College. She has served on the executive committee of DAWN for over 10 years. Prior to returning to Delaware, Dockety served as assistant dean of undergraduate students for business administration at Marymount University, Arlington, Va. In addition to her professional career and adjunct teaching for Wilmington University, she is the organist/pianist for a local church.

Dockety is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. She holds professional certification through SHRM and serves as co-chair of student chapters for the Delaware State Council of SHRM. She also serves on the board of Pathways to Success, an organization that serves Sussex County youth. Past volunteer service includes her role as state president for Delaware Business and Professional Women.

She was also a founding board member, and served for 11 years on the executive board for the Sussex Academy of Arts and Sciences, the only charter school in Sussex County.

She is a member of the Village Improvement Association in Rehoboth Beach. Dockety holds a bachelor of arts degree from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Fla., and a master's degree from Marymount University.
