Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth held its Annual Delivery Volunteer Award Luncheon Dec. 9 at Crabbers Cove in Dewey Beach. Volunteers were recognized for the years and hours of service along with Driver of the Year.
For more than 44 years, Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth has played a critical role in helping local homebound residents in eastern Sussex County maintain healthy, independent lives by providing hot meals and warm smiles each weekday to over 200 agency clients. As a source of daily contact for these homebound neighbors, the nonprofit organization helps clients avoid institutional living, thereby aiding in containing healthcare costs.
