Meditation event with Carl Skooglund set April 6-7

March 31, 2018

Insight Meditation Community of Lewes will welcome meditation teacher Carl Skooglund for an evening Dharma talk and a half-day meditation retreat with the theme of Calm, Watch and Guide the Mind: The Roots of Practice. Skooglund said the talk is meant to distill the array of teachings and practices encountered these days into something that helps deepen practice. All are welcome to attend this weekend of meditation and discussion.

Skooglund is a charter member of the board of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington. He trained with Spirit Rock’s Community Dharma Leader program and is a regular teacher at IMC-W.

The Dharma talk of Buddhist teachings, along with discussion and refreshments, will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall Friday, April 6. The half-day retreat will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 7, at the parish hall.

The suggested donation for Friday’s talk is $10, and $25 for the Saturday retreat. For those with limited income, 50 percent or any amount of the suggested donation offered is welcome. If budget does not allow for a donation, simply show up, and no explanation is needed.

St. Peter's Parish Hall is at 211 Mulberry St. near Second Street in Lewes.
