Melissa Pryor drops 71 pounds in 2023

January 27, 2024

Melissa Pryor watched the numbers on the scale increase over time, and she knew she needed a change. The overwhelming responsibilities of being a mother and business owner had gotten the best of her and she wasn’t happy with her body. Her weight had ballooned to the highest it had ever been and she wasn’t sure how to get it under control. As a result, she decided to sign up for our 12-week body transformation, and by the time she was finished, her results were some of the best we have ever seen. She lost 71 pounds and 60% of her starting body fat, and became our best transformation of 2023.

When Melissa first started, she wasn’t sure what to expect.

“My initial goals were to get a kick-start in the right direction and lose enough weight to regain my health,” she said.

However, as she quickly saw progress, she began to revise expectations and was willing to work harder to achieve dramatic results.

“My goal changed as I saw my weight coming off and my body improving,” she said.

So she set her sights on getting her body fat down 18% and achieving ultra-lean status.

To put this goal in perspective, it’s first important to understand that 18% body fat for a female would put her in the leanest 1% of women at any age. In addition, the day she started our program, she tested at 49.5% body fat, which meant she was clinically obese. To accomplish such a lofty goal, she would have to lose a large amount of weight, but the challenge did not discourage her. She just kept following directions, and with each pound lost, she became more motivated.

As time passed, Melissa found it easier to stay on track because she started to experience the positive effects of being in shape.

“I began to notice an increase in energy from eating clean foods,” she said. “The mental and physical boost from working out was amazing, and it also helped restore my self-confidence.”

It would be a long road to achieve her ultimate goal, but she was determined to continue.

After completing the initial 12 weeks, Melissa had lost a total of 39 pounds, gained a pound-and-a-half of muscle and lost 26% of her starting body fat. However, she still had a long way to go, so she decided to sign up for a second transformation.

Melissa started her second transformation a week later with the same enthusiasm as the first. To jump-start her metabolism, we added more food to her diet and cut the cardio back to shorter, more intense sessions. In response, she immediately began losing weight again. Over time, we increased the intensity of her workouts with more advanced exercises to keep her body responding. This time, everyone began to notice weekly changes as Melissa transformed before our eyes, losing an average of 2 to 3 pounds a week.

When Melissa finished her second transformation, the results were truly unbelievable. She had lost a total of 71 pounds and 64% of her starting body fat, and gained 6 pounds of muscle. Her body fat percentage dropped from 49.5% to a lean and sculpted 17.7%, surpassing her original goal of 18%. In addition, her dress size went from 14 to zero, and she looks like a completely different person.

When asked what advice she would give to others who are struggling to get in shape, she said, “My best advice is to take action and make your health a priority. Just take the steps to get started and have confidence in the process.”

Melissa said she has no plans to stop her fitness journey.

“I will integrate the principles I learned during the program with my new fitness lifestyle,” she said. “I’m going to try to continue to increase muscle while maintaining a healthy and comfortable body composition.”

Congratulations, Melissa, your results will surely inspire others to change their lives.
