Mentors needed for Delaware students on journey to college

November 27, 2016

The Give Something Back Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides mentors and scholarships to help Pell Grant-eligible kids go to college and graduate in four years without debt, is currently recruiting mentors to help support its scholars through high school.

The primary goal of the mentoring program is to help these Give Back scholars develop a positive relationship with an adult who will provide the social and emotional support needed to prepare them for success in college, in addition to overseeing their academic progress.

Upon successful completion of high school, these scholars can apply to Give Back's partner college, the University of Delaware, which they can attend for four years free of tuition, fees, and room and board costs.

Those interested in volunteering as mentors are asked to complete the mentor application on Give Back's website and agree to the background check. For more information and to download the application, go to www.givesomethingbackfoundation.org or email deinfo@givesomethingbackfoundation.org.
