Michael Wayne Smith, owned construction company

Michael Wayne Smith, 63, of Palm Coast, Fla., passed away at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.

Mr. Smith was born in Hyattsville, Md., to the late Ralph S. and Carol (Hodges) Smith.

Michael was the owner of Commercial Building Inc., in the Washington, D.C. area, a job which he loved and was very dedicated to. He did a lot of work for the Catholic Dioceses and many schools. He was also known to do charity work for Special Olympics. He was a member of the Elks, The Knights of Columbus, VFW, Eagles and the Italian-Americans.

Michael was very well liked and never knew a stranger. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Rakoci-Smith; brother, Robert and his wife Jen Smith; and his sister, Kathy and her husband Kenny Eisley; and numerous extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m., at the Cheverly American Legion, 3608 Legion Drive, Cheverly, MD 20785.
