Mildred E. Mitchell, a loving soul

Mildred E. Mitchell, 97, of Milford, passed away surrounded by her loving family Thursday, March 8, 2018. She was born Feb. 25, 1921, to the late James H. and Mamie (Cooper) Warrington.

Mildred was a kind, thoughtful and loving soul who was adored by everyone who knew her. She loved God, her family and friends with all of her being. She was a fervent prayer warrior for all those in need. She enjoyed reading her Bible, watching baseball (especially the Phillies and Nationals), going to the beach, and cooking her specialty dishes for her family. She truly enjoyed her sweets! She was a member of New Life Baptist Church.

Although she is finally at peace, she will truly be missed.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Mitchell; four brothers Howard, Richard, Nelson and Everett Warrington; sister Marie Moore; two daughters, Janet Carey and Joan Niblett; and grandson Craig Niblett. She is survived by her son, George Mitchell (Barbara) of Seaford; two sons-in-law, David Carey of Lincoln and Eddie Niblett of Milford; two brothers, Fred Warrington of Magnolia and Rodney Warrington of Houston; a brother-in-law, Lee Moore; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 14, at noon, at New Life Baptist Church, 945 S. Dupont Blvd., Milford. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Slaughter Neck Cemetery, Milford.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mildred's memory can be made to New Life Baptist Church at the above address.
