Millsboro motorcyclist dies in crash

A Millsboro man died May 25, following a motorcycle crash near the Maryland line.

The crash happened at 2:30 a.m., when a 2006 Toyota Sienna was traveling southbound on Millsboro Highway, just north of East Line Road, and failed to stay in its lane around a curve, police said. At the same time, police said, a 2010 Victory motorcycle was traveling northbound on Millsboro Highway, and was struck by the Toyota. The impact ejected the motorcyclist, Antonio Hopkins, 58, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. 

The driver of the Toyota, a Salisbury, Md. man, 48, was not injured. Two of the Toyota’s passengers were taken to an area hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries. A third passenger was not injured.

The roadway was closed for about three-and-a-half hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
