More thoughts on ‘taking the kneel’

October 9, 2017

I hope someone is keeping track of each player and each team in the No Fans Left on a weekly basis to see what kinds of sanctions they are accruing on a game-by-game basis. It would be interesting to have these statistics posted each week.

Since the NFL will not follow disciplinary measures that "may" be applied, as apparently found in the league's Games Operations Manual, I further suggest that a new scoring system be created. Let's call it "Flag Football."

Teams can remain the leagues and divisions in which they now reside. Patriotism can be quantified by how many players don't respect our flag or how many teams don't. Standings (tongue in cheek) can be created.

Mostly fans can see the individual and collective support or lack thereof for the symbol of our great nation by those who seem to be getting the most from it.

Remember, when a folkway is not supported, a new one is created. Is that what we want for our country?
