Nautical flag activity for children set Feb. 19

February 15, 2017

The Rehoboth Beach Museum is inviting area children to answer the question: How do ships talk to one another without making a sound? The answer is by using nautical flags that represent each letter of the alphabet. Ships can talk to each other by waving flags when in sight of each other. Each letter of the alphabet has its own flag with a design on it.

The Rehoboth Beach Museum will host a program for children ages 8 to11 from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 19. Children will hear a story and create a banner with nautical flags spelling out their name. Cost is $5 and reservations are necessary. The museum is at 511 Rehoboth Ave. Parking is free and the museum is handicap accessible.  For more information or to reserve a spot, call 302-227-7310.
