New Covenant Church to host creation conference Nov. 10-12 in Lewes

October 15, 2017

A creation conference is coming to Lewes Friday to Sunday, Nov. 10 to 12. New Covenant Church, 16796 Kings Highway just off Route 1, will host the Answers in Genesis Conference, a three-day, eight-session event. With the utilization of modern technology, plain logic, and real data, this conference will address hard questions regarding existence, sustainable life and relevance (i.e., Does anything really matter?). The goal is to reveal answers for these questions.

Creation discussions have been surprisingly rare, and as a result, the majority of the rising generation (under 20 years of age) has never heard credible presentations of biblical creation. With such an absence of teaching, even the older generations who are familiar with the creator do not feel adequately prepared to address modern challenges regarding adaptation, mutation and the acceptance of billions of years. Exposure to discussions regarding intelligent design, global stewardship, and the "beginning of time" can foster interesting intergenerational interactions.

The conference schedule for Friday, Nov. 10 includes a session on Why Genesis Matters at 6:30 p.m., a break at 7:30 and a session titled Jurassic Prank: A Dinosaur Tale at 8 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 11, activities begin at 9 a.m. with Coffee and Book Store, followed by one-hour sessions at 9:30 a.m. - Are You Intimidated? and 11 a.m. - Why Can’t a Day Mean a Day? with a half-hour break at 10:30. Lunch will be provided at noon. Afternoon sessions include 1:30 p.m. - After Their Kind, and 3 p.m. - Cloning and Stem Cells, with a half-hour break at 2:30. An independent dinner break will begin at 4 p.m., with the evening session, A God of Suffering, starting at 7 p.m. Closing-day activities begin at 9 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 12, with Coffee and Book Store, followed by the final session, Worshipping the Creator God, at 10 a.m., and a Worship Service at 10:30.

The host church is sponsoring the event at no cost to attendees, but will welcome financial assistance through a general love offering box.

Sessions are appropriate for both children and adults, but not for those who are unable or unwilling to think. Free childcare will be provided during the Friday night sessions and the Saturday daytime sessions. In order to adequately staff the children's department, all children need to be preregistered for childcare services via the online conference registration form.

To secure adequate materials, New Covenant is requesting advance registration through the web at www.ncpchurch.com or call the office, 302-644-6800. No one will be turned away if room is available.
