Fire service warns of scam phone calls
During the last couple of months, the Delaware Volunteer Fire Service office has received a number of calls about telephone solicitations. Theses solicitations are not from the Delaware Volunteer Fire Service.

The Delaware Volunteer Fire Service does not use phone solicitations! While they come in from 302 area codes they are, most likely, not from Delaware. Some of the callers as saying they are calling for volunteer firefighters or as part of volunteer fire companies.

The Attorney General's Office has been notified and is investigating. The public should be aware and verify with the Attorney General's Office Fraud Division the validity of the caller. They are asking the public to get the callers' phone number and any other information and not to make a commitment, for payment without verifying with the fraud division.
