Alliance to discuss Groome parcel Dec. 14
The Groome Church property on New Road in Lewes will be the topic of discussion at the New Road Preservation Alliance public meeting set for 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Rollins Center, the old library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes. The educational program will provide information about the sale of the 135-acre parcel. Expert speakers will be on hand to discuss open space preservation, history, archaeology and science to help the community better understand the potential effects of development on the parcel. Cape Henlopen school board to meet Dec. 14
The Cape Henlopen school board will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, in the Cape High cafeteria for its last meeting of 2017. The board will hear a presentation on Cape High's culinary arts program and another presentation on preparation for AP and SAT tests. The board will also discuss and possibly vote on a color scheme for the new Rehoboth Elementary School and discuss the Sussex Consortium project. The final fiscal year budget will also be presented in its draft form.
