The Overfalls Foundation will host Stephen P. Tolbert, who will share his recollections of service on a lightship, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 9, at the Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes.

Tolbert is a retired U.S. Coast Guard chief warrant officer 4 who enjoyed 30 years of service, including being stationed aboard the Relief Lightship WLV 529 in Cape May, N.J., and later serving as commanding officer of the Indian River Coast Guard Station.

Tolbert was born in Philadelphia and became a full-time Sussex County resident in 2002. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Sue, and they have four grown children and seven grandchildren. He is an Overfalls Foundation board member and is currently one of the lightship’s guides.

Attendees are asked to arrive 15 minutes early so as not to interrupt the presentation. The event is free and open to the public.
