The annual New Years Eve anchor drop at the Lightship Overfalls in Lewes has been canceled due to the forecast of extreme cold temperatures, which are expected to be about 15 degrees by midnight.
The group had expected to drop the anchor despite the ship being in New Jersey for maintenance.
