Paul Kares to present blues musician Chris English Dec. 9

December 5, 2023

Chris English is so well known for the blues that it’s part of his website domain—chrisenglishblues.com. But the musician is particularly well known for the Delta blues, an early style named for the Mississippi Delta, where it was born.

English will perform at The Room at Cedar Grove at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9 to benefit Paul Kares, the Lewes-based nonprofit that supports young performers and culinary artists.

Harmonica and guitar are dominant Delta blues instruments, and English plays both—along with the stomp box (typically an old Coca-Cola crate). He uses guitars from the ’20s and ’30s to replicate the sound of the music he loves.

Tickets are $35. To purchase, go to paulkaresde.org.

Wine and other beverages will be sold separately.

The Room at Cedar Grove is located at 32882 Cedar Grove Road, Lewes.
