Pranay Sanwal of Lewes crowned Worcester Prep Geography Bee winner

Pranay Sanwal of Lewes won first place in the annual Worcester Preparatory School Lower and Middle School Geography Bee for fourth through eighth grades Jan. 11. He is the son of Drs. Pankaj and Vibha Sanwal. Eighth-grader John Arrington of Salisbury, Md., came in second, and fifth-grader Hunter Simons of Seaford finished in third place.

The semifinalists who advanced from the preliminary rounds, out of 63 Lower School students and 145 Middle School students, included the following: Sanwal; Arrington; Simons; fourth-grader Danielle Carr, Lewes; sixth-grader Brody Bushnell, Berlin, Md.; sixth-grader Ian Lewis, Onancock, Va.; seventh-grader Brooke Emeigh, Seaford; and eighth-grader Adison Browne, Dagsboro.
