Raymond (Skip) F. Grill, HVAC retiree

Raymond (Skip) F. Grill, 85, of Lewes passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. He was born Saturday, May 27, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late Arthur and Josephine Grill.

Mr. Grill honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following the war, he started a lifelong career in refrigeration and air conditioning repair for AVM Vending, serving the greater Philadelphia area and several local taverns. In the evening, Mr. Grill owned and operated 2nd Street Wharf in South Philadelphia.

He retired and moved to Lewes in 1998 where he could enjoy playing golf and the social community. He was an active member of American Legion Post 17 in Lewes, and past member of the Elks Lodge 2540 in Lewes. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and dear friend, who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Grill was preceded in death by his brother Martin. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Joan; his three children: Susan Spada of Roxborough, Pa., Donna Wesemann and her husband Bob Abate of Blue Bell, Pa., and Arthur Grill of Roxborough; his five grandsons: Anthony Wesemann, Ryan Wesemann, John Spada, Vincent Wesemann and CJ Walsh; and his five great-grandchildren: Jace, Layla, Dominic, Milani and Olivia.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 23, at noon, at La Collina Restaurant, 37 Ashland Ave., Bala Cynwyd, Pa. Interment will be private.
