Rehoboth bartender seeks votes for Bar Boss title by Feb. 1

Rigby’s Ricky Didomenico currently ranks among national semi-finalists
January 29, 2024

Known as the singing bartender at Rigby’s Bar & Grill in Rehoboth Beach, Ricky Didomenico is competing in the semi-finals in the national Bar Boss competition.

Advancing from a group of 27,000 entries to the final 48 nationwide, Didomenico seeks votes to boost him into the top four, with the goal to capture a $10,000 cash prize and be featured on the cover of Bartender Magazine as the 2024 Bar Boss. The brainchild of the Dos Hombres Tequila company founded by Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, stars of “Breaking Bad,” the Bar Boss competition raises funds to support the Kind Campaign. The nonprofit organization brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl bullying.

Didomenico is widely known in Rehoboth for a unique bartending skill: pouring and singing. With passion and a mesmerizing range, he can frequently be found singing karaoke while never missing a beat to serve guests at Rigby’s. Intensely quick with a perfectly placed zinger or one-liner, Didomenico is loved by the regulars, the irregulars and the tourists who pop in for a good family meal or a cocktail.

Didomenico said, “[My favorite thing about bartending] is meeting new people and learning about them, hearing their stories, and creating a perfect experience so they come back as a regular. Also being able to sing as I work combining two passions.”

If he wins, Didomenico said he would take care of some bills, and keep an eye to the future, possibly opening his own bar one day.

To cast a vote for Didomenico to make it to the final four, go to barboss.org/2023/richard-didomenico. The deadline to vote is 10 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7.
