Rehoboth Beach Lions Club presents scholarship

July 9, 2016

Each year the Rehoboth Beach Lions Club presents a scholarship to a Cape Henlopen High School senior. This year's winner was Alexandra Atsidis. She ranked high in scholastic studies and is a member of the JROTC unit at Cape. Her ambition is to major in agriculture education and possibly move on to veterinary medicine. She plans to attend the University of Georgia.

Each year the club awards a $1,000 scholarship with the promise that an additional $1,000 will be presented to the student for the next three years provided they send a request to the club along with grade averages.

Every student at Cape Henlopen High School is eligible to apply for the scholarship money. When the club receives the applications, a committee of three club members studies the resumes and determines which student is most deserving. This year's committee consisted of PDG Richard Merriwether, Lion Jim Hudson and PDG Jack Brinckmeyer.
