Rehoboth drawbridge repaired after getting stuck

June 9, 2017

The Lewes-Rehoboth Canal Bridge in Rehoboth Beach is no longer stuck, and traffic is once again moving over the bridge.

Drivers say the bridge became stuck at 1:28 p.m., when cars were backed up all along Rehoboth Avenue and Rehoboth Avenue extended. The bridge was functional again about 1:58 p.m.

Gregory Layton, spokesman for Delaware Department of Transportation, said there was likely a minor misalignment of some parts causing the bridge to bind.
