Responding on jobs in Cape Region

October 20, 2017

In response to Mr Gillespie: I am sure all of us congratulate you on our companies' forward thinking in letting their help desk employees work from home in jammies and fuzzy slippers!

We systems people need to actually be there, as diagnosing computers/network issues and setting up new systems is really hard remotely. Let me know if you need a definition of working with people. If you really read my letter you would see I was referring to the STEM project, giving real-life examples of the difficulty real-life professionals and very qualified folks have getting a job with Sussex. Not Rehoboth Beach specifically.

I can't imagine the issues someone with no experience will have. I hope they make it happen, but I doubt it, not with the exclusivity that current HR people show. The minimum wage crap jobs will have no issues getting people, but the young ones will have to look elsewhere for real, meaningful careers.

And BTW, we are part-time owners who found we would like to be full time. But if it doesn't happen, it doesn't. No unrealistic expectations here.
Have fun remotely!
