Sea Colony hosts pro women’s open May 13-19

Sea Colony will host the 11th annual Vacasa Pro Women’s Open, a USTA Pro Circuit Event, May 13-19 at its facility just south of Bethany Beach.

The tournament will feature both singles and doubles matches, with some of the most talented female tennis players competing for a share of the $25,000 prize pool. 

"Sea Colony is thrilled to welcome players and fans alike to our beautiful venue for what promises to be an unforgettable week of tennis,” said Tournament Director Thomas Johnston. “We are honored to continue our tradition of hosting top-tier competitions and look forward to showcasing the incredible talent on display."

Past editions of the Vacasa Pro Women’s Open have seen participation from renowned players such as Jessica Pegula, Danielle Collins, Lindsay Lee-Waters, Alycia Parks and Grace Min. Additionally, Liv Hovde, the champion of the 2022 Wimbledon girls' singles, is among the rising stars expected to compete in this year’s tournament.

The tournament not only provides an opportunity for fans to witness high-quality tennis, but also serves as a platform for players to hone their skills and advance their careers on the professional circuit.

As part of the excitement, a Kids Day will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 15. Children are invited to join the fun alongside world-ranked tennis players and Sea Colony pros. Admission to the 11th annual Vacasa Pro Women’s Open is free for spectators, providing tennis enthusiasts with the opportunity to witness the excitement firsthand. Finals matches will be played Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19.
