When SoDel Concepts decided to start an employee wellness program, the hospitality company didn’t look far for experienced instructors.

Popular trainer Hans Fuller, who has worked with several SoDel employees, is the firm’s director of wellness.

Lead trainer is Lisa Kammerer, wife of CEO Scott Kammerer and a design consultant for many of the company’s coastal Delaware restaurants.

The new program, SoDel Well, is for employees of SoDel Concepts restaurants, Highwater Management, Surf Bagel and Southern Delaware Brewing.

“Fitness and wellness programs should be accessible to everyone,” said Mike Dickinson, SoDel Concepts president. “They’re so important to physical and mental well-being, and our instructors address both aspects.”

Fuller, a 13-year fitness industry veteran, previously owned a CrossFit location. He was also a partner at a prominent fitness facility, and he teaches and practices yoga. His experience includes individual and group sessions.

“I believe in meeting people wherever they are on their fitness journey. It doesn’t matter whether they’re starting a program or recovering from injuries. I also work with seasoned athletes,” said Fuller, who is certified by the National Federation of Professional Trainers and is a registered yoga teacher. He is also certified in Opex.

“Sharing the transformative benefits of fitness is my passion,” he added. “I want to empower others to embrace a healthy lifestyle that complements their personality and meets their goals.”

Lisa Kammerer would agree. A sports enthusiast for most of her life, Kammerer played softball in high school and field hockey at Loch Haven University, where she was named second team All-American. She was on national championship teams in 1992 and 1994.

For the past 17 years, Kammerer has taught barre and tone classes, step, kickboxing and boot camp.

“Putting a priority on health and movement fosters a positive outlook, builds core strength, improves balance and can prevent life-altering injuries,” she said. “A group setting allows you to meet new people, stay motivated and be accountable.”

SoDel Well classes are held at the Rehoboth Beach Barbell Club on the Forgotten Mile. More than 100 weekly participants take the classes, which are offered six days a week between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.
