Sonja F. Damico, retired realtor

Sonja F. Damico, 71, of Ocean City, Md., and Ocean View, formerly of Ellicott City, Md., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.

Sonja was born in Chesnee, S.C., May 13, 1945, daughter of the late David Talton Stephens and Myrtle Jenelle (Parris) Stephens. She moved at an early age to Baltimore, Md., and graduated from Catonsville High School in Catonsville, Md. Sonja retired as a realtor in 2005 where she worked for various real estate companies in the Ellicott City area.

Sonja was passionate about her artwork and was also a talented children's author who wrote and had two children's books published. She loved time spent with her grandchildren, and also volunteered her time with the Worcester County Humane Society. She will be fondly remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and Noni.

She is survived by her husband of 25-and-a-half years, Salvatore "Tor" V. Damico; three sons, Scott Faya, Brian Faya and his wife Laura, and Eric Faya, all of Maryland; a stepson, Vincent Damico and his wife Tracy of Maryland; and eight precious grandchildren, Jenna Loss, Samantha Faya, Joseph Damico, Brandon Faya, Lindsay Faya, Dominic Damico, Isabella Damico and Brady Faya.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, March 26, at the Ocean View, Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View. A visitation will also be held from noon to 1 p.m., Monday, March 27, at Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church, 81 Central Ave., Ocean View, where the funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro.
