Southern Cruisers Chapter 425 set Rollin' for St. Jude Oct. 1

September 23, 2016

For motorcycle enthusiasts, fall means nice riding weather. Why not ride for a good cause? Bikers are invited to ride to help raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Southern Cruisers motorcycle club Chapter 425 is hosting a Rollin' for St Jude dice run Saturday, Oct. 1. (Rain date: Oct. 2).

The Rollin' for St. Jude event will start at the Rommel Harley Davidson in Seaford. Registration and check-in will run 9:30 to 11 a.m. To preregister, go to www.fundraising.stjude.org/SC425. The first 100 registrants will receive a free event T-shirt. A donation of $20 allows one rider to participate in the event. Passengers require another $5 donation, for a total donation of $25. Note that the donation required for a passenger will increase to $10 the day of the event.

The ride will have bikers touring parts of Delaware and Maryland, with stops at the Ellendale VFW, Stockley Tavern, Oasis and the Delmar VFW. Picture opportunities, karaoke, music by DJ Moonbeam, cornhole and horseshoes all await. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and lots of items up for grabs during the ticket auctions. Participants will want to be sure to bring extra cash.

Finally, there will be a nice meal waiting at the end of the ride. Entertainment and a meal for the small required donation can’t be beat. And participants can feel great knowing that their donations will go toward helping a child fight the battle to overcome cancer.
