St. Peter's to offer Three Kings Feast Jan. 10

December 31, 2014

On Saturday, Jan. 10, St Peter’s Episcopal Church will host a Three Kings Feast at 5 p.m. in the Parish Hall at Second and Mulberry streets in Lewes. The traditional Mexican Feast will be catered by Dos Locos of Rehoboth and will benefit Centro Infantil San Pablo in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. There will also be a silent auction of some extraordinarily lovely art and collectibles.

St. Peter’s parishioners have been connected with Centro Infantil for four years, sending adults and teens to help in the school that serves the very poorest youngsters in San Miguel. These 3 to 5 year old children live in shelters made of wood, metal and fabric in the Campo area of town with no electricity, running water or sewer.

At CISP they receive a hearty lunch - often their only meal - and an excellent Head Start type of education. They anxiously learn letters, numbers, colors, stories, cleanliness, and group behaviors that most of us take for granted as skills necessary for success in elementary school. They also receive medical and dental checkups and take short trips to help them feel more secure their world.

The silent auction will include an original lithograph by master Mexican artist Raoul Anguiano, titled Nostalgia, valued at $2,000. There will also be an icon by San Miguel artist Mary Jane Miller and a print of The Adoration of the Magi by Gennay Spirin, world renowned illustrator.

Reservations for the feast may be made at St Peter’s Office on Second Street in Lewes or by calling 302-645-8479. The cost is $25 per person.
